Protex is formulated from a blend of transparent resins which, once applied, increases the durability of Fiddes Supreme and Mellow Wax. It is ideal for application on surface areas that have previously been waxed, but require that extra degree of resistance. Once dry, Fiddes Protex retains the traditional Supreme Wax sheen, while also providing further protection for your wood. Sand the wooden substrate in stages, working with a medium sandpaper (120 grit) through to a medium/fine grade (180-220 grit). Always sand in the direction of the grain pattern where possible, ensuring the removal of any blemishes and glue residue prior to the application of Fiddes Supreme Wax. Take care to remove all traces of sanding dust, and test the chosen Fiddes Supreme Wax shade on a similar substrate to verify the color. Take a clean cotton cloth and lightly apply in the direction of the wood grain where possible. To obtain a uniform coverage, always wipe evenly, taking care to lightly remove any excess Protex immediately with a separate, clean absorbent cloth, again following the direction of the grain pattern. The best results are achieved when Fiddes Protex is applied sparingly over the whole surface area. Application: Sparingly with a clean cotton cloth. Coats: 1 coat.
